This job took us down to the South Devon coast at Bigbury on Sea. It overlooks Burgh Island which has the Art Deco hotel used in some of the Agatha Christie stories shown on television.
The house was being developed and the kitchen had been bought off Ebay and then transported from the London area down to Devon and fitted. While half of the kitchen was a light cream colour which the the customer liked the rest was in a very dark stain which did not suit either the room or location. The kitchen had double aspect windows looking straight out to see and the client quite rightly decided to opt for something more fitting colourwise. A Dulux colour “Holiday Blues 2” was chosen.
In addition to the kitchen units there was also a large dining table with a dark mahogany insert. This was to be finished in the same light blue to match the kitchen. This was given the same treatment as the hand painting of the rest of the kitchen but with the addition of 3 coats of matt lacquer once it was finished to give that extra durability.
